Faith Sanders - President
Faith Sanders is a 3L full-time student who serves the Lord first, then SBA as President. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, she began her undergraduate college career at Northern Kentucky University before completing it at The University of Tampa. In 2018, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Master of Science in Criminology in 2021. As an undergraduate, Faith was a student-athlete and member of the women's basketball team. In addition to SBA, Faith is the Treasurer of both the Black Law Students Association and the Christian Legal Society, and works as a Legal Research Teaching Assistant.
As President, Faith looks forward to advocating for her peers, listening to their needs, and continuing to build a close-knit community at Capital Law. Faith is currently a Legal Intern at the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office.
In her free time, she enjoys running, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her family.

Joseph Bjorkman - Full-Time Vice President
Joe serves as a Full-Time Vice President and is in his second year of law school. He’s proudly from a military family and was predominantly raised in Galena, OH. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 2024. He has worked in several state and federal governmental and advocacy organizations, including the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office. He is excited to serve his peers and looks forward to advocating for the interests of all current and future Capital Law Students. He is also involved in Moot court and is a Capital Law ambassador.
Joe serves as his Sons of the American Legion Squadron’s Vice Commander, as a legislative counselor for AL Buckeye Boys State, and as deputy legislative director for AL Boys Nation. He also maintains local involvement in politics and educational advocacy, serving on the central committee for Delaware County and as the campaign manager for the Kelly Green for Judge committee. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, watching football, playing D&D or pickleball, and spending time with friends and family.

Samantha Croyle -
Part-Time Vice President
Samantha Croyle serves as the Part-Time Vice President for SBA. Samantha grew up in Stow, Ohio, but moved to Columbus to complete her undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University. She graduated with a degree in Political Science with a thematic specialization in Democracy and Law, and two minors in Legal Foundations of Society and Disability Studies.
She works for the Ohio Attorney General's Office in the Environmental Enforcement section. Some of her favorite hobbies include volleyball and hiking!

Savannah Montgomery - Treasurer
Savannah Montgomery is a full-time 3L who serves as Treasurer of SBA. Savannah graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Criminology and a minor in Legal Foundations of Society.
Savannah currently works at Fishel Downey Albrecht and Riepenhoff. She is also Co-Chief Justice of Capital’s Moot Court and Mock Trial Programs.

Baylee Faires - Secretary
Baylee is a full-time 3L and currently serves as the Secretary of the Student Bar Association. Originally from Athens, Ohio, Baylee graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in the Legal Foundations of Society.
Between undergrad and law school, she spent two years interning at the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office, where she gained firsthand experience in public service and the justice system. She now works as a Law Clerk at Mollica Gall Sloan and Sillery Co., LPA in Athens.
In her free time, Baylee enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and close friends.

Caroline Piatt - 3L Full-Time Representative
Caroline Piatt serves as one of the 3L full-time Representatives for SBA. Caroline grew up in Columbus, Ohio. In 2022, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ohio University with a BBA in Finance and Business Pre-Law with a minor in Business Analytics. At Ohio University, she was a member of Chi Omega, where she gained leadership skills serving as the Secretary and Director of Programming. She worked for two years at Bath & Body Works home office gaining valuable corporate business experience before starting at Capital Law School. Outside of school, she loves to workout, try new restaurants with friends, and spend time with her dog. Caroline is beyond thrilled to have been elected to this position and would love to connect with you.

Kyle Smith - 3L Part-Time Representative
I am a 3L at Capital University Law School with over 21 years of experience in sales, marketing, and leadership. I hold a bachelor’s degree in General Studies with an emphasis in American Political Institutions and have also been a small business owner in the past. Outside of school, I am a husband and father, and I bring those same values of dedication and responsibility to my work in law school.
As an SBA Representative, my focus is on making sure all students—especially those in the Part-Time Evening program—have equal opportunities for success through different programs that Capital offers. I am committed to representing the goals of our class, supporting new opportunities, and building connections that strengthen our community. My interests include both criminal and civil law, and I look forward to carrying the same passion I have for being in the courtroom into serving my classmates. My commitment is simple: to listen, to advocate, and to represent the best interests of our class.

Devynne Ashby- 2L Full-Time Representative
Devynne Ashby is a 2L full-time student at Capital University Law School and serves as a Student Bar Association 2L Representative. Originally from Southern California, she graduated from The University of Alabama in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in International Relations before beginning her legal education at Capital.
Unlike many traditional law students, Devynne entered law school after spending several years in the professional workforce. Prior to law school, she worked as a Legal Assistant and later as an Executive Assistant and Office Manager, experiences that strengthened her leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. She currently serves as a Law Clerk at Schiff & Associates, where she continues to gain practical legal experience while pursuing her J.D.
In addition to SBA, Devynne serves as Secretary of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and is the Founding Secretary of Capital Law's AI Association. After serving as a 1L Representative, she was elected by her classmates to continue representing them as a 2L Representative. She enjoys finding opportunities to connect with fellow students, support student organizations, and contribute to the law school community.
As a 2L Representative, Devynne is committed to being an accessible resource for her classmates, advocating student concerns, and helping strengthen communication between students and SBA leadership. She looks forward to supporting her peers and continuing to foster a positive and engaged law school community.
Outside of law school, Devynne enjoys attending live music events, traveling, cheering on Alabama football, and spending time with her dog, Cowboy.

Elena Mendez- 2L Full-Time Representative
Elena Mendez serves as one of the 2L Full Time Representatives for SBA.

Dylan Shuster - 2L Part-Time Representative
Dylan Shuster is a 2L Part-Time student who is serving as the 2L Part-Time SBA Representative. Dylan was born and raised in Columbus and attended high school at St. Charles Preparatory School in Bexley, Ohio. In 2023, Dylan graduated Cum Laude from the University of Lynchburg, receiving a B.S. in Biomedical Science and minors in Mathematics and Neuroscience. He also served as the Vice President for the Student Managed Investment Fund, a member of the E-Sports team, and, eventually, a senior captain for the Men’s Lacrosse team.
After completing his undergraduate degree, Dylan continued his education at Lynchburg, receiving his Master of Business Administration from the University of Lynchburg in 2024. Currently, Dylan is a Paralegal for MacMurray & Shuster, LLP, focusing on federal and 50-state marketing and data privacy compliance.
As the elected 2L Part-Time SBA Representative, Dylan serves Capital by providing a voice for the Part-Time students through the SBA. His hobbies include hiking, coaching, playing lacrosse, and fishing.
